Taipei City ICT in English Training Programme 2009-10

This semester will be really busy but exciting for me, because I can still get myself involved in the field of technological education. This really makes me feel excited.
I''ll be attending an ICT training programme on Monday mornings for 10 weeks this semester since October.
The programme is run by the British Council in Taipei, and my classmates are all elementary school English teachers.
Our instructor is a very experienced teacher's trainer from England.
Hope I can gain some nice experiences in learning and sharing ideas with both the trainer and other teachers on the programme.

To tell the truth, ICT is a new concept to me.
It stands for Information Classroom Technology,
or Interactive Classroom Technology.

Our school will purchase 3 IWB's (interactive whiteboard) this semester, and I'm truly interested in learning how to integrate ICT and IWB into my English teaching. I think it'll be very fresh and exciting to learn new things.

Through the training courses I'll have a chance to explore a variety of ICT resources, and to learn to use the ICT resources to design a number of interactive English language activities.
Moreover, I'll learn how to exploit the different ICT resources to develop a more interactive teaching style.

If anyone is interested in this topic, we can defenitely share ideas and experiences with each other.

I know Mia and Ashley are taking courses on Monday nights together, how about the others?
Is everyone doing well and having fun in teaching?
And how about our busy "super instructor", Stacey?
Though everyone is busy, don't forget to keep in touch online.
Be healthy and enjoy you life.

I've been busy for........

Since I came back to Taiwan and started working,
I had been busy for training students to get ready
for attending Taipei Municipal English Drama and Speech Contest.
It is always exhausting to spend all my free periods at school
training students in September every year.
But when students win the prizes in the end,
every hard work is whorthy. We won the prizes this
year, not the best, though,
we had been excited for the results for a few days.

Go to my teaching blog and take a look at some pictures.

Two-day-trip in middle Taiwan

Right after I came back from the U.S., I went to the middle part of Taiwan with my husband in the weekend for only two days.

We went to the Sun Moon Lake in Nantou County, and the Wuling Farm in Taichung.

The scenery there is beautiful and makes people feel peaceful, which is totally different from what we experienced in New York City.

I haven't been to the Sun Moon Lake since I graduated from senior high school, on the contrary, I went to the Wuling farm for three times when I was young. It's a fantastic farm in a valley in the mountains, but it has already changed a lot since last time I visited.

Though a two-day-trip was kind of rush, I still had a great time with my husband. Of course I missed my kids a lot before I came back from New York, and I'd like to spend more time with them. But since my husband took care of the kids on his own for the whole summer vacation, he deserved a vacation of his own, and that's why we went on a short vacation with no kids around.

New York Memories

New York Memories~~ Always subway , everywhere, every time.

New York, New York.

Beautiful churches

Fantastic Broadway and Time Square
Some scenes are still wondering in my head sometimes.
We talked and walked through those New York streets,
and were amazed at everything new in that huge city.
Perhaps we'll never have another chance to go back,
but we'll keep the touching memories in our mind for good.
Now and forever.
